FAQ
Will using a mobile mechanic void my new car warranty?
No — and this is one of the most common misconceptions about using a non-dealership mechanic. Under Australian Consumer Law, your manufacturer warranty cannot be voided simply because you choose not to service your vehicle at a dealership. What the law requires is that the service is performed by a qualified mechanic, using parts and fluids that meet manufacturer specifications, and that it is correctly recorded in your vehicle’s logbook. Precision Pit Stop satisfies all of these requirements. Your warranty is safe.
Are you fully licensed and insured?
Yes. Precision Pit Stop holds full public liability insurance and professional indemnity cover. Dermot is a qualified, licensed mechanic with over 20 years of professional experience and master technician certification. You can engage Precision Pit Stop with complete confidence.
Do you work on all makes and models?
Yes — all makes and models. Whether you drive a Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Kia, Hyundai, Ford, Holden, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, Volvo, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, or any other make, Dermot has the training, experience and equipment to service and repair it. Whatever you drive, you’re welcome here.
Can you come to my workplace?
Yes — this is one of the most popular options for our customers. Many people choose to have their vehicle serviced in the workplace car park during business hours, so they’re not losing personal time to a routine service. As long as there is reasonable access to the vehicle and a safe working environment, Dermot can work from your office car park just as comfortably as your driveway.
What if you need a part you don't have with you?
Dermot carries a broad range of common parts, filters, fluids and batteries in the mobile workshop to cover the majority of servicing and repair needs. For less common vehicles, specific components or parts that need to be ordered, Dermot will confirm availability and source the part before scheduling your appointment — so there are no wasted visits. If something unexpected comes up on the day, he’ll discuss the options and timeline with you clearly before proceeding.
What areas do you service?
Precision Pit Stop is based in Aspley and services the northern suburbs of Brisbane, including Aspley, Chermside, Stafford, Everton Park, Bracken Ridge, Bridgeman Downs, Albany Creek, Keperra, McDowall, Wavell Heights and surrounding areas. A full list is on the Contact & Service Areas page. If you’re unsure whether your suburb is covered, give us a call.
Do I need to be present while you work on my car?
You don’t need to be present the entire time, but we do ask that you’re available at the start of the appointment to go through the vehicle and confirm the work, and again at the end to review findings and process payment. If you’re at your workplace, this is usually easy to manage between meetings.
How long does a logbook service take?
Most standard logbook services take between one and two hours, depending on the make, model and specific service interval. If additional issues are identified during the service, Dermot will always discuss these with you before doing anything further.
How is pricing handled? Do you quote upfront?
Yes — always. Precision Pit Stop provides a clear quote before any work commences. For standard logbook services and battery replacements, pricing is typically confirmed when you request a quote. For diagnostic work or repairs where the scope depends on what’s found, Dermot will provide a diagnostic fee upfront, then walk you through the repair costs and options before proceeding. There are no surprises on the invoice.
What if you find additional issues during the service?
If Dermot identifies any concerns during a service or repair, he’ll stop and discuss them with you before taking any further action. You’ll receive a clear explanation of what’s been found, what it means for your vehicle, and what your options are — including what can wait and what needs attention now. You decide how to proceed. There is no pressure.
How do I request a quote?
The quickest way is to fill out the Request a Quote form on this website — tell us about your vehicle and what you need, and Dermot will respond promptly. You’re also welcome to call or message directly if you’d prefer to talk it through first.
